In January, the 787 was grounded.
Today, she flew again, undergoing the first of the test flights planned to verify if she is ready to return to service.
The 787 was grounded due to electrical problems, and fears that there could be fires in the aircraft’s important battery systems. Boeing engineers have redesigned the battery enclosure, and the FAA have approved test flights to be run where Boeing will need to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the new modifications.
This test flight went according to plan, and it could be just a few weeks before she’s back in the air with passengers.
